YES, all of those are cool. Speedy attacks are optional depending on weather you're making a fast-paced actiony movie or a slightly slow-ish-paced calm RPG movie. If TDS is supposed to be a combination of both, then Y-E-S.

Smooth animation mostly. Have the characters move like they would in the situation.

Id have to say... Good sprites and special attacks. One thing I think is cool is when a character is about to let something really powerful loose, there are lots of little explosions.

Actually what I look for in a spirte movie is not looking for a sprite movie at all! Lol, seriously sprite movies take NO skill to create. And frankly NG has no space or time for them.
